STEP 2: CONFIDENTIAL INTERVIEWS

A number of confidential, one-on-one interviews will be conducted with managers and employees from all functions and locations. We will also interview key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and consumer groups, if applicable. The comprehensive interview database we collect will contain most of the issues that impact overall performance. It will be analyzed carefully to identify all the opportunities and obstacles that exist within the organization, by region, geographic location, area of expertise, or other relevant demographic breakdowns. High impact projects are typically started immediately after the interviews.

The typical question set consists of approximately 30 research-based questions that are correlated with productivity, performance improvement, and what motivates people to change. Professional interviewers will spend approximately three hours with each interviewee. They will take the time to probe for essential details and expansion of ideas in order to understand what is important to each individual. The interviews therefore become an important vehicle for relationship-building and engagement.

We will use a highly skilled team of data analysis specialists to quickly analyze and systematize all the interview information, using Tor Dahl & Associates' proprietary and custom-designed software. Comprehensive tables summarizing the frequency of responses from each of the 30 interview questions will be produced showing all performance-related issues that must be addressed to create the necessary changes within the organizations.

We will produce anonymized interview quotes illustrating all performance-related issues from various perspectives to document and illustrate all issues. These quotes will help engage people throughout the change process. Another immediate benefit of our approach to interviewing is the immediate involvement and engagement of a critical mass of key people in the organizational improvement process.
