The interviews, survey and seminars will yield a set of definable opportunities and obstacles for the organization. We refer to these as the logjam. You can expect no fewer than four and no more than twelve logs in the logjam. The Boot Camp is a three-day event with approximately 50 key employees, customers and stakeholders designed to systematically address and resolve this logjam. All the Boot Camp participants will have gone through the pre-Boot Camp project management preparation to ensure that the solutions they come up with at the Boot Camp are translated into powerful projects, and that they possess the necessary skills to participate in the implementation effort.
We will provide a customized Boot Camp guide detailing all 4-12 opportunity areas with comprehensive documentation of each area. Documentation includes: a statement of the groups' purpose; a complete description of the opportunity areas; a listing of specific aspects based on the organizational diagnosis of interviews, survey, and seminars; interviewee quotes illustrating each of the aspects; and best practices, "how to" articles showing how similar issues have been successfully addressed by other organizations. All performance data collected during the interviews, survey, and seminars, as well as all economic, competitive and industry analysis, will also be combined into a Group Sponsor's Supplement.
A proven and effective problem solving method will be used to ensure that project plans address the root cause(s) of a problem, and are well-defined in terms of time lines, responsibilities, benefits, resources, measurement criteria, and communications. Work groups comprised of people who are ideally suited to resolve the issues, including key decision makers, influencers, subject matter experts, and other people from any function or level in the organization are formed who can contribute to the resolution of the issues. Key stakeholders, suppliers, and customers are also involved in the Boot Camp groups to provide their input.
There will be immediate feedback and guidance from the leadership team, other Boot Camp participants, and Tor Dahl & Associates. Outstanding group facilitation will be provided by certified facilitators from Tor Dahl & Associates. Facilitators provide expertise on the process, while group sponsors from your organization are subject matter experts during the small group work sessions.
On-site computer and administrative support from Tor Dahl & Associates' staff will be available to help with presentation materials, group documentation, and any other needs of participants.
At the end of the Boot Camp, a special group leader session is held to determine the "key log" in the organizational logjam.
